Universal Washroom

The City of New Westminster’s first universal multi-stall washroom in Queen’s Park will provide a safe and inclusive space for all park users.

The enclosed individual stalls and change rooms serve as private spaces for individuals as well as children with caregivers.  

Universal washrooms and change rooms promote:

• Inclusivity for people with disabilities
• Inclusivity for families
• Inclusivity for trans and non-binary people
• Increased privacy
• Increased efficiency
• Forward-thinking design

The City of New Westminster was guided through the design process by the HCMA’s guidelines for inclusivity.
