Alison Woodward

Alison Woodward (they/them) is a whimsy enthusiast, book reader, and friend of dogs, who LOVES encouraging creativity and community! Their teaching practice is all about knowing our materials, sharing knowledge, and above all, joyful experiments! They have the privilege of living, working, dreaming, and playing, and remaining as an uninvited guest on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (primarily). It's truly a magnificent place that influences Al deeply and makes them who they are (which could be described as a bit "golden retriever", to be honest).

With a lifetime of playful creativity within them, in 2014 Al graduated from Emily Carr University with a bachelors of fine arts. Later that year they finished their tattoo apprenticeship to become a full time artist, tattoo and otherwise, as they remain to this day. Over the last decade, Alison has crafted images for tattoos, zines, artbooks, illustrations, murals and plain ol' just-for-fun games.

It is truly their pleasure to cultivate creativity and facilitate artmaking at the Anvil Centre.
